Edition 2019

The second edition of the project was characterized by the participation of other creative cities and the expansion of the project through meeting with the knowledge keepers of the Creative Cities.
The results were presented during the XIII Annual Meeting in Fabriano, Italy, through a round table, accompanied by a buffet organized by local bakers who had offered to delegates their typical products.

BoCC Conference

XIII UCCN Annual Conference, Fabriano 2019

On June 12, 2019, during UCCN XIII,June 10-15, held in, Fabriano, ITKIUS and Tucson City of Gastronomy organized a round table where delegates from several Creative Cities (of different clusters) discussed the outcome of the 2019 BoCC edition and proposed new ideas for the 2020 edition to allow for a larger participation and give each cluster a leading role.

During the Breads of the Creative Cities meeting, the knowledge keepers which take parts, received
from Tucson Creative Cities of Gastronomy and the International Traditional Knowledge Institute, chapter US, a certificate of Traditional Cooking.

Around me

The Breads of the Creative Cities team improved the custom app, adding a functionality dedicated to the around me. With this feature people can discover, through a map and localization, if there are traditional bakeries or creative cities around themselves.

BoCC Meeting

ITKI US, in partnership with Tucson Creative City of Gastronomy, organized Meetings in Creative Cities,
with the aim of creating interest and involvement in the project “Breads of the Creative Cities” and
also to strengthen international partnerships between Creative Cities. During these meeting the
bakers and the local producers of the ingredients useful for the creation of the traditional staple
food of the Creative City has been invited to cook the traditional breads of their City and to choose
two from other Creative Cities, recreating them, and having the opportunity to confront
themselves with bakers from other countries and cities.


Gaziantep

(Turkey), Creative City of Gastronomy
Mr. Giuseppe Biagini, founder of ITKIUS and on behalf of Tucson City of Gastronomy, in the presence of Mehmet Erzurumluoglu, representative of Gaziantep Creative City, delivered certificates of merit for the knowledges and the manufactures of traditional staple food to the bakery “MSM”

Bologna

(Italy), Creative City of Music
The TRusT Team, on behalf of ITKIUS and on behalf of Tucson City of Gastronomy, in the
presence of Francesca Martinese, representative of Bologna Creative City, delivered
certificates of merit for the knowledges and the manufactures of traditional staple food to
the baker Thomas Giardini, owner of the bakery “Il forno Pane e Dolci”.

 

 


San Cristóbal de Las Casas

(Mexico) Creative City of Crafts & Folk Art
Mr. Giuseppe Biagini, founder of ITKIUS and on behalf of Tucson City of Gastronomy, in the presence of Alethia Diaz Vazquez, representative of San Cristóbal de Las Casas Creative City, delivered certificates of merit for the knowledges and the manufactures of traditional staple food to the bakeries “San Ramón D’Alicia” and “DIF San Cristóbal”
